World Book Night

Tuesday, April 23, 2013 (All day)

World Book Night is dedicated to spreading the love of reading, person to person. On this night, 25,000 book givers will each give away 20 copies of a specially-printed, not-for-resale World Book Night U.S. edition of a book they have read and loved, chosen from a list of 30 titles selected by a panel of librarians and booksellers. The volunteer book givers personally hand out their copies to complete strangers, people who may never have owned a book of their own. Libraries and bookstores support this event as organizational participants, forming a nationwide advocacy and distribution network. While our library will not be a location for book givers, it will have a limited number of free titles available on World Book Night.
