Like any public facility, the Franklin Township Library is governed by a set of policies. All library policies are passed by the Board of Trustees, and all staff and those using the library system are expected to follow them. 

Art Display Policy & Application

Purpose Franklin Township Library welcomes the public to display artwork on the library picture rails in the lobby and meeting room. The goal of these displays is to broaden the community’s interaction with art and support the community’s cultural and artistic activities. Guidelines Artists interested in displaying at the library may contact the Library Director to discuss their artwork and possible timeline for displays. Borrowing Materials Policy

Library Materials The Franklin Township Library has a variety of materials for patrons.  Patrons must have their library card (physical or digital) or a current ID to borrow materials. There is no limit to the amount of materials a patron may check out with exceptions described in 3.b Special Material Guidelines. Materials can be checked out for two weeks (14 days) with two renewals if no other patron has requested the item. Fines are ten cents (10¢) per day up to a maximum of $5.00 per item. Cricut Policy

Purpose The Franklin Township Library has a Cricut cutting machine available for patrons to use by appointment and staff availability. Cricut machines can cut a variety of designs from different types of materials from vinyl to paper. Patrons will be able to use the library’s Cricut and the DesignSpace software on a library laptop.  Guidelines Patrons can call the library to make an appointment to use the Cricut machine based on staff and machine availability. The library makes the internet available to library cardholders in support of the library’s role as the community’s information center. Laptop In-House Usage Policy

Purpose The library has four laptops available for adult patrons to use in the library. Laptops are available on a first come, first served basis and cannot be reserved ahead of time. Laptops are also used during library computer classes and may not be available during those times. Guidelines Adult patrons can check out a laptop at the circulation desk. The patron must provide a current government ID which will be held at the desk while the laptop is in use and sign the policy acknowledgement form. Puzzle Swap Collection

Purpose Franklin Township Library offers a puzzle swap collection for patrons. The puzzle swap collection operates on the honor system and patrons can borrow new-to-them puzzles or donate gently used puzzles from their own collection. Guidelines Patrons do not need to check out puzzles on their library card and are asked to return them in the same condition as they borrowed them. The collection will be checked periodically by staff to assess condition and may be weeded as necessary. Puzzle pieces will not be counted upon return or when donated.
